Madelene Mayfield Hicks

Madelene Mayfield Hicks, 86, of the Tharptown community in Russellville, Alabama, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born December 28, 1930, in Franklin County, Alabama, to Robert and Cora Lee Mayfield. She was later united in marriage to A. Odis Hicks on April 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2016, after seventy years of matrimony.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and was well known for taking care of her family and for baking chocolate pies.

Visitation for Mrs. Hicks will be Thursday, March 2, 2017, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, AL. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Ed Dill officiating. Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery, Russellville, AL, immediately following the service.
