Tharptown’s varsity volleyball team picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday, beating Hackleburg 3-0 in an area match and then beating Class 3A East Lawrence 2-0.
Brooke Daily led the Lady Wildcats (1-1 in area play) with eight kills in the sweep of Hackleburg. Adriana Borden had four kills, and Makensy Hester added 10 assists and five digs. Kasey McCormack recorded 15 assists and two kills, and Breanna Gasque added four digs and several attacks.
Tharptown had 11 aces as a team.
The Lady Wildcats followed up their area win with another sweep of East Lawrence. Daily had four kills and two blocks, and Borden finished with three kills and two blocks. McCormack had nine assists, one block and one kill. Gasque recorded four assists and one kill, and Ameliah Dawson had several attacks. Annslee Bottoms had three kills, and Erica Gray added two kills and two blocks.
Tharptown recorded 12 aces as a team.
