Abby Davis and Dakota Elliott each scored 15 points on Friday night, helping Phil Campbell’s girls open area play with a 62-33 rout of Red Bay.
The Lady Bobcats (4-2 overall, 1-0 in Class 2A, Area 14) rolled to a 39-14 lead at the half and never looked back. They finished the night with 20 steals, including five from reserve guard Caitlyn Mills and three apiece from Davis and Darby Elliott.
Phil Campbell shot 40 percent (25-for-62) from the field and won going away despite finishing just 9-for-24 from the foul line.
Davis, a junior post player, had six rebounds to go along with her 15 points. Sophomore guard Kallie Allen chipped in with 13 points, five rebounds and two steals. Dakota Elliott also pulled down five boards, and senior Chloe Roberson added eight points, three rebounds and two steals. Darby Elliott finished with two points, three rebounds and two assists.
Carley Nix and Megan Bullock each had two points and two steals for the Lady Bobcats.
