Phil Campbell’s girls ended a three-game losing streak on Friday night and remained unbeaten in area play, rolling to a 55-37 win at rival Red Bay.
The Lady Bobcats (11-5 overall, 4-0 in Class 2A, Area 14) raced out to an early 24-3 lead, holding Red Bay to one field goal—a three-pointer by Reagan Kuykendall—in the first quarter. Phil Campbell stretched the lead to 34-11 by halftime and 44-18 by the end of the third quarter.
Sophomore guard Kallie Allen led the Lady Bobcats with 12 points, finishing 5-for-6 from the foul line and reaching double-figures in scoring for the 12th time in 16 games. Junior post player Abby Davis added 10 points, notching double-digits for the 13th time this season.
Senior guard Darby Elliott went 4-for-4 from the foul line and finished with eight points. Junior guard Dakota Elliott also scored eight, and freshman Catilyn Mills added seven. Chloe Roberson and Carley Nix had three points apiece, and Kaci Harris and Megan Bullock each scored two. Phil Campbell finished 18-for-26 from the foul line.
Kuykendall went 7-for-10 from the line and scored 14 points to lead Red Bay. Macy Faulkner made four threes and finished with 12 points.

Gath Weatherford scored 15 points on Friday for the Tigers, who withstood a big fourth quarter by Phil Campbell’s Peyton Thomas to finish off a season sweep of the Bobcats.
Thomas, a senior forward, scored nine of his game-high 22 points in the fourth, but junior Hunter Bays went 3-for-4 at the foul line to help Red Bay (12-6, 4-1 in Class 2A, Area 14) hold on for the win.
Leading by just one at the break, the Tigers out-scored Phil Campbell 15-8 in the third quarter behind junior guard Colton Corum, who drilled three threes and poured in all 11 of his points to help Red Bay stretch the lead to eight at 41-33.
The Tigers hit seven threes on the night, including two from Weatherford and one apiece from Clay Allison and Braden Ray. Ray finished with nine points, and Bays added five. Allison, Noah Brewer and Peyton Green each scored four. After not attempting a free throw in the first three quarters, Red Bay went 5-for-9 from the line in the fourth.
Thomas, who topped the 20-point mark for the second straight game and the fourth time this season, was the only player in double-figures for Phil Campbell (3-9, 0-4). Senior guard Joe Hardy hit two second-half threes and finished with eight points, and Nate Owens added a pair of threes and six points. Daniel Smith, Rhett Benford and Brody Nix scored four points apiece.
The Bobcats made six threes and went just 3-for-7 from the foul line.
