Belgreen’s boys rode a 32-point first quarter to a rout of visiting Vina on Tuesday night, remaining unbeaten in area play with a 79-35 win.
The Bulldogs (14-3, 5-0 in Class 1A, Area 13) got eight first-quarter points from Jacob Mayberry, six from Mason Bragwell and a pair of early threes from Seth Taylor, racing out to a 32-8 lead at the end of one. Belgreen continued to pour it on in the second quarter, out-scoring the Red Devils 22-6 to take a 54-14 lead into the locker room.
Bragwell finished with 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. Isac Willingham added 11, and Mayberry scored 10. Seth Taylor and Scout Bragwell hit two threes apiece and each finished with nine points.
Payton Scott scored seven points, and Jake Taylor added six. Eli Hiser scored all five of his points in the big first quarter, and Gaven Taylor and Koby Collins each finished with three. Tanner Warhurst added two points.
Belgreen made six threes as a team and shot 11-for-18 from the foul line. The Bulldogs will return to action on Friday night at home against Phil Campbell.
Jackson Landers led Vina with 17 points. Ethan Colvin added eight, and Austin Harper had six.
