Russellville's boys golf team finished second at the Class 5A, Section 4 tournament at Cherokee Ridge in Arab on Monday, shooting a team score of 309.
Brayden Bendall led the way for the Golden Tigers, shooting 73 and winning a one-hole playoff to claim low medalist honors for the tournament.
Russellville's boys will play in the sub-state tournament next week at Turtle Point in Killen. The Golden Tigers recently finished fifth out of 18 teams at the Turtle Point Classic, posting the best score (324) of any 5A school in the field.
Russellville's girls also advanced past the sectional tournament on Monday, earning a sub-state berth. The Lady Golden Tigers will play next Tuesday at Silver Lakes Golf Course in Gadsden.
