One of my favorite things about Christmas is that you hear people say, sing and talk about things that you never hear any other time of the year.
For example...
“Figgy Pudding.” I don’t know what it is, it doesn’t sound good, and I think I’ll stick with banana.
“May your days be merry and bright.” What a great sentiment to bestow on someone, any time of the year.
“Have you been good this year?” Leave me alone and mind your own business.
“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.” I’ve never known anyone to do this, but it does sound very relaxing.
“Secret Santa.” How often do you hear of people doing good things anonymously for people any other time of the year? Well, never, of course, or it wouldn’t be a secret.
“Walking in a winter wonderland.” Remember, we live in Alabama. It’s probably going to be ice with a lot of slippin’ and slidin’. But it can still be quite pretty.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” I kind of like summer, a lot.
“What if Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more.” Thank you, Mr. Grinch and, maybe, I’m “beginning to feel a lot like Christmas,” or at least a little.
In the words of Mr. Scrooge, ““I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”
Don’t forget, for problems or projects, help is just around the corner at your local hardware store.
And Merry Christmas!
