Franklin BOE approves number of Summer Reading Camp personnel moves

 

The Franklin County Board of Education approved a number of personnel moves, most of which were for the Summer Reading Camp and Summer Reading Program, at the board's April 19th meeting.

Board members heard an update on capital projects at several schools. Assistant Superintendent of Education Johnny Cleveland said the concession stand project at Tharptown High School was moving along well and Tharptown's nurse's station is now complete, awaiting final inspection.

Other projects to start soon include the greenhouse at Vina High School, Phil Campbell High School library, storm repairs at Red Bay High School and the next phase of construction at East Franklin Junior High School.

The board approved two out-of-state trips, including Vina's Pre-K program to Buffalo Park & Zoo in Tupelo on April 22 and THS Rocket Team to Plains, Va., Washington, D.C., and Johnson City Tn., on May 10-16, 2022.

In other agenda items, the board:

--approved $500 in compensation to Ashley Grimes, Yearbook Sponsor at Phil Campbell Elementary School, to be reimbursed by PCES.

--approved the following personnel moves:

--Resignation: Anthony Sparks, science teacher, Red Bay High School.

--Employment: Rosanna Hogan, teacher, PCES, Jaime Oliver, Accounts Payable Clerk/Bookkeeper at Central Office, Rachel Hammond, Dana Hill, Briana Champion, Susie Stockton, Tasha Zills, Tracey Potter, Heather Fowler, Whitney Hutcheson, Alicia Cooper, Meagan Reed, Carrie Seahorn, Dawn Weaver, Rachel Ingle, Carrie Pharr, Monica Elliott, Anna Jeffreys, Suzanne Borden, Katina Petree, Shea Miller, Deborah Townsend, Summer Reading Camp Teachers. Tonyca Scott, Monyca Guin, Molly Mayfield, Kelly Champion, Carol Fretwell, Paula Jackson, Jennifer Oliver, Summer Reading Camp Substitute Teachers. Ann McMahan, Jonathon Raper, Robert Langley, Denise Morrow, Bryon Gann and Lamanda Johnson, Summer Reading Program Bus Drivers.

The next regular meeting of the Franklin County Board of Education will be May 17, 2022, with work session at 5 p.m., and meeting to follow.
