RV Council approves donation of fire truck to Phil Campbell VFD

The Russellville City Council approved the donation of a 1999 fire truck to the Phil Campbell Volunteer Fire Department after efforts to sell the vehicle in a reserve auction were unsuccessful.

Russellville Fire Department Chief Joe Mansell recommended the council approve his request to donate the vehicle, which needs the transmission replaced, after the $5,500 reserve price was not met while the vehicle was listed on govdeals.com.

Mansell said he was contacted by PCVFD Chief Andy Marbutt who said his department could really use the truck if the council was willing to donate it.

The resolution was unanimously approved at the May 6, 2024, Russellville City Council meeting.
