Russellville City Schools received a clean bill of financial health from an audit report presented to the board at its May business meeting.
Buddy Johnsey with the accounting firm of Watkins, Johnsey, PC., in Florence, told board members the school system was in compliance with no significant issues in the recently completed FY 2024 audit.
Johnsey addressed the board at its May 20th meeting.
In other agenda items at the May 20th meeting, the board:
—accepted a quote of $110,391.70 from VIRCO for new furniture in the Career Technical Education building.
—approved Teacher Excellence and Accountability for Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) contracts for 3/5 year Advanced Contracts for Celeste McCollum, Jonathan Odom, Mallory Smith, Shay Pounds, Luke Baker, Alannah Hill, Austin Stidham and Lindsey Warren, and a one-year Advanced Contract for Katelyn Little and Jade Pounds.
—set business meetings for the coming year for the third Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., with work session at 3:30 p.m., the Thursday prior to the meeting. The June meeting will be Thursday, June 12th, at 5:30 p.m. in a one-time change, with work session at 3:30 p.m., the same date of June 12th.
—elected Kim Clonts as board president and Howard Hillman as vice-president for the coming school year.
