Franklin County Women's Leadership Committee begins 'Cottons for Christmas' drive

As the holiday season approaches, it will soon be time for the many Christmas events and traditions that Franklin County residents enjoy each year.

Included among those are the Franklin County Women’s Leadership Committee’s annual ‘Cottons for Christmas,’ a community effort that provides local nursing home residents with new socks and other sundries.

The Women’s Leadership Committee is asking Franklin County residents and businesses to donate new socks for distribution to a local nursing home.

Donation boxes are located in three locations, including the Franklin County Courthouse/Extension Office. You may leave your donations with the deputies working the security desk located at the entrance of the courthouse.

The other two boxes are at the ALFA Insurance offices in Russellville and Red Bay.

‘Cottons for Christmas’ is one of the many ways the Franklin County Women’s Leadership Committee gives back to community each year.

Sock donations are being collected now through December 2, 2024.

If you have any questions about the ‘Cottons for Christmas’ sock drive, contact Carol Glass at 256-810-5446 or Shannon Murray at 256-668-3893.
