The Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) Music Department is proud to present the beloved musical Into the Woods with performances scheduled for April 17 at 7:00 PM and April 19 at 2:30 PM. The production will take place in the Lou B. Bevill Center on the Phil Campbell campus.
Originally debuting in 1986, Into the Woods features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine. The musical intricately weaves together classic fairy tale characters, including Cinderella, Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk), and a Baker and his wife, all of whom set off on journeys to fulfill their deepest wishes. However, as the story unfolds, they soon discover that achieving their dreams comes with unforeseen consequences.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their talent while bringing such a compelling and thought-provoking production to the community,” said Jonathon Romero, NWSCC Music Instructor. “Into the Woods is a masterful blend of humor, heart, and a powerful message about the choices we make.”
The performance is open to the public. General admission tickets are $7 (plus fees), and children 10 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at #0563c1;">https://shorturl.at/X84Rb.
