Tharptown’s varsity volleyball team split a pair of area matches on Thursday, beating Hackleburg 3-1 but falling to Phillips 3-0.
The Lady Wildcats (2-3 in area play) recorded 21 aces and 20 kills as a team in the two matches. Adriana Borden led the way with six kills, and Brooke Daily recorded a team-high eight aces while winning 12 consecutive points on serve during one stretch. She also had five kills.
Erica Gray finished with four kills, and Kasey McCormack and Ameliah Dawson added a couple of kills apiece. Makensy Hester recorded four aces, four digs and numerous assists.
