Russellville rallied from a 2-0 deficit with four runs in the third inning and five more in the fourth, beating Colbert County 9-2 on Friday afternoon at the RHS softball complex.
A.J. Taylor led the Lady Golden Tigers at the plate and on the bases, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs scored. Emma Whitfield (1-0) earned the win in the circle, striking out four and allowing four hits in a four-inning complete game.
Whitfield set down the first six batters she faced before Colbert County scored twice in the top of the third to grab a 2-0 lead. Russellville came right back with four runs in the bottom half. Taylor led off with a single to center and then stole second and third. Following a walk to Lauren Rogers, Alivia Clemmons brought home Taylor with a bunt hit to make it 2-1.
Rogers and Clemmons both scored on a sacrifice by Autumn Logan to put the Lady Golden Tigers on top. Karlie Moore reached on an error with two outs and scored on a double by Makala O’Neal to make it 4-2.
Whitfield pitched around a leadoff double in the top of the fourth, striking out two, and Russellville scored five runs in the bottom of the inning on two hits, two errors, a walk, a hit batter and seven stolen bases.
Clemmons finished 1-for-1 with a walk, two steals and two runs scored. Krista Sikes was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run, and Moore stole a base and scored twice. O’Neal was 1-for-3 with an RBI double and two stolen bases.

Johnna Staggs hit a pair of three-run homers for Wilson, and Taylor Brown went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four runs scored.
A.J. Taylor's solo home run to left in the bottom of the third accounted for Russellville's lone run. The Lady Golden Tigers (3-2) had just one other hit, a double by Alivia Clemmons.
