The Franklin Free Press has announced its All-Franklin County Girls’ Basketball team for the 2024-25 season. The team, chosen by the FFP sports editor, is based on nominations by the head coaches.

This season’s FFP All-County First Team was led by two selections from Phil Campbell and had one selection from Belgreen, Russellville, and Vina. The First and Second Teams had five players each and there were four Honorable Mentions. The Coach of the Year was voted on by the county coaches.

Phil Campbell senior point guard Macy Hardy and junior forward Leela Baker were named to the First Team. Hardy, averaging 14.4 points per game and three assists per game, and Baker, averaging a team-best 16.2 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game, helped lead the Lady Bobcats to the AHSAA Class 3A Northwest Regional tournament.

Phil Campbell head coach Craig Thomas, who led the Lady Bobcats to the Northwest Regional and a final 23-11 overall record was named the Coach of the Year.

Belgreen High School was represented by three total selections and led on the First Team by senior forward Dacota Green. Green scored a total of 413 points in 33 games for an average of 13.4. She also had 56 total assists, grabbed 186 rebounds, had 76 steals, and 23 blocks. Belgreen’s selections were rounded out by Second Team players Bryn Scott and Makenna Fisher. Together Belgreen’s three all-county selections helped the Lady Bulldogs win the Franklin County Tournament, the Class 2A Area 14 championship, reach the Northwest Regional semifinal, and end the year with a No. 8 ranking and a 24-9 record.

Russellville High School also had three total all-county selections. The Lady Golden Tigers were led by First Team selection Ella Copeland, a sophomore point guard. Despite not playing in Russellville’s first eight games of the season after recovering from a previous injury, Copeland still managed to end the season as the Lady Golden Tigers’ top scorer with 328 total points—an average of 18.2 per game. Copeland also added 127 total rebounds, 56 assists, 45 deflections, 29 steals and seven blocks in 18 games.
