Two years from a failed attempt to legalize alcohol sales in the City of Red Bay, nearly 1,200 residents showed up November 5th to consider the wet-dry referendum once again.
This time, aided by a massive turnout for the Presidential election, Red Bay residents approved alcohol sales with a 623-550 result in favor of the referendum, representing a 53-47 percent vote.

Former Russellville optometrist Dr. Martha Morrow was recently inducted into an elite fraternity that recognizes distinguished alumni from schools in the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association (TICUA).

The case against a Franklin County woman facing four misdemeanor charges stemming from a fatal motor vehicle accident is on hold pending the results of a court-ordered mental examination.
Pam Hester, 66, remains free on bond awaiting the results of a mental examination conducted by a State of Alabama Department of Mental Health forensic evaluator.

The tennis courts at the Russellville Sports Complex will soon undergo a major renovation project after the Russellville City Council approved a bid to do the repairs.
